According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Minnesota Timberwolves are converting a two-way contract for rookie guard Jaylen Clark into a standard deal, while planning to add free agent defender Bones Hyland.

The Timberwolves have reportedly agreed to a fully guaranteed contract with swingman Clark, his agent Todd Ramasar told Charania on Wednesday.
“I love being in Minnesota, and I’m excited,” Clark said. “It feels like I’m officially part of everything. I can play in the playoffs. It’s cool. The journey is long, but it’s worth it.”

Next Sports Agent Austin Walton told ESPN that Minnesota is expected to sign Hyland, the 2021 first-round draft pick. The move reunited with Timberwolves president Tim Connelly, who chose him No. 26 in Denver, where he was a two-time upstar trial.
According to basketball reference, Clark fully entered the Timberwolves rotation on January 29. The 23-year-old averaged 6.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11 games this month, while shooting 47.4% and 44% from three-pointers this month.

The 6-foot-2 Hyland was sent to the Atlanta Hawks as part of the Terance Mann-Bogdan Bogdanovic deal for the NBA trade deadline, and was later abandoned.
Hyland had a season-high 22 points against Houston on December 8. The Delawarean spent nearly two years in Denver before joining the Clippers in February 2023.
The Timberwolves continued four games with the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night.
