Toney named in Tuchel’s squad

England manager Thomas Tuchel recalled striker Ivan Toney for the June match against Andorra and Senegal.

Toney, 29, left Brentford last summer to join Saudi side Al-Ahli, and scored 22 goals in 29 games.

“We hold on to him like all the players on our roster,” Tacher said.

“He played a lot in his great contribution and decisive goals, and he won the Asian Champions League. We want to see his personality and quality in the group.”

Despite persistent problems with his shoulders, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is included, while Newcastle winger Jacob Murphy did not advance.

Dan Burn and Jordan Henderson’s surprise call in March remained with Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah calling for the first time.

Tuchel’s three Lions face Andorra in the qualifiers on June 7 and played Senegal in a friendly match in Nottingham Forest City three days later.
