The Toronto Raptors, who have allowed the most points in an NBA game, suffered another devastating loss in Memphis on Thursday night.
Toronto Raptors break NBA record for most points allowed in a game
The Memphis Grizzlies extended their losing streak to nine games on Thursday night with another upset loss to the Toronto Raptors.
It was certainly a case of “it pours when it rains” for the Raptors, who held seven different Grizzlies players to 15 points or more.
Jaren Jackson Jr. and Zach Edi each scored 21 points, Desmond Bane scored 19 points, Jaylen Wells scored 17 points, and Ja Morant scored 15 points.
The game was a foregone conclusion before the buzzer blew, with Memphis entering Thursday night with a 20-10 record and Toronto's 7-23 record.
While the Raptors have scored a commendable 125 points in each of their past two games, their defensive weakness has been their undoing.
After giving up 139 points against the Knicks on Christmas Eve, the Toronto Raptors' record for most points allowed in a single game in the NBA was broken on Thursday, taking their dismal performance to worrying new heights.
They allowed 155 points against the Grizzlies, the most points allowed by any team in the NBA this season and the most in franchise history.

The statisticians were on hand throughout the game, coming up with a slew of unpopular statistics for Toronto's defense.
They lost 43 points in the first quarter alone, tying the most points in a quarter this season.
Toronto also gave up 78 points in the first half, their most in a half this season.
