Liverpool captain Van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk smashed his Liverpool teammate “chin and prepare for the next challenge” tonight at Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.

After Ousmane Dembele scored 1-1 in the first half to score a total-to-1-level score, PSG won 4-1 with free throw percentage.

Both teams had the chance to win in a 120-minute absorption in Gianluigi Donnarumma’s free throw rescue of Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones’s soldiers.

Wembley is next to Liverpool

Liverpool will have to rebound quickly if they face Newcastle in the EFL Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.

Captain Van Dijk told Amazon Prime: “It’s a very intense football game and I think that’s part of it. Liverpool is totally there, unfortunately, we’re fined, and that’s the reality.

“I think in the first half of the year we created dangerous moments, they also had quality and then it came down to punishment.

“It’s part of football. I said to these guys, obviously, you might be disappointed because we’re not playing, but the chin and getting ready for the next challenge is a beautiful challenge on the weekend.”

Liverpool has improved, but not enough

Liverpool rode his luck last week, scoring a 1-0 victory with the Princes last week, goalkeeper Alisson scored a series of good points before Harvey Elliott was late.

They will be much better tonight, although PSG takes on a bigger threat as the game progresses.

Van Dijk added: “I think we’re pretty good today, too, you want to go as much as you can, but we know that when we draw PSGs, it’s going to be very difficult.”

“We saw it [that] While we were struggling, in Paris, we won, and today we saw a very good side of Liverpool, but we were not in the game.

“When both sides start fatigue, it becomes more open, especially at regular times, and we show a good game. We can talk about the game for years, but we’re not in the game, and that’s the reality.”
