Notably, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a chance to win the IPL in 2016, but they failed to do so and lost to SunRisers Hyderabad in the final. In the latest season, RCB made it to the playoffs but are still waiting to win their first IPL trophy.
For IPL 2025, RCB is yet to officially announce the captaincy, but it is said that Virat Kohli is likely to play the role again. Virat Kohli, who was out of form in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, will make his comeback in the upcoming ODI series against England.

Kuldeep Yadav to return to action for England ODIs
Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has been named in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against England on February 6 and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The spinner has been ruled out until November 2024 since undergoing hernia surgery.
Kuldeep has been steadily recuperating and establishing a bowling rhythm at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru over the past few months. Kuldeep is said to have bowled 10 to 12 consecutive overs during training, hinting that he is ready for a return.
Notably, Delhi Capitals hired Kuldeep for a whopping Rs 13.25 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The 30-year-old won the IPL trophy with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014.
