Seattle Cleken hosted the St. Louis Blues at the Climate Commitment Arena on Saturday, April 12. Although the Blues have won the first two games, Kraken hasn’t made them easy to accept. Seattle won 4-3 in the gunfight.
Game review
The first period was full of low-event hockey, with only three shots on the blue net and only five shots on Kraken. Despite the eight-minute power game in Seattle, they still couldn’t find a chance to score. The first one ended up scoring no points.
In the third minute of the second phase, Jordan Eberle picked up the puck from a poker made by Philipp Grubauer. He passed the puck to Jaden Schwartz, who skated along the board with cookies. Schwartz slid toward the center of the ice and fired a shot, and Jordan Binnington blocked the puck. Schwartz scored a rebound and his second shot was the first goal of the night.
Each team was punished for the second time, but did not take advantage of Superman. The second ended with a score of 1-0.
In the 28 seconds of the third phase, Cam Fowler put the puck on his face. He immediately walked down the tunnel, but returned on the third time. 30 seconds later, Bruce scored a revenge goal. Nick Leddy shoots on the blue line. Nathan Walker tried to tilt the puck into the net, but Grubauer saved it. Radek Faksa picked up the rebound and scored his first goal for Blues.
In the third and six minutes, Tye Kartye gained control of the neutral zone hockey due to the pass the Blues missed. He slid the puck into Clake’s offensive zone. He fired, but Binnington made a save. Michael Eyssimont picked up the rebound and scored Seattle to lead.
The lead didn’t last long. After Eberle missed shots, the Blues picked up the puck and slid it into their own offensive zone. Robert Thomas’ pass pass, Colton Parayko got the game again.
Just 13 seconds later, Nick Leddy shot from the blue line. The puck bounced off the beam and entered the net, giving the Blues a lead.
Two minutes later, Jamie Oleksiak fired online. The puck deflected from Shane Wright’s skateboard and entered the back of the net. Officials immediately reviewed the target to see if there was a kick move to send the puck in. After review, this is a good goal. During this period, no other goals were scored and the game entered overtime.
Seattle controlled five minutes of overtime and shot only two shots online. That’s not enough, the game starts the gunfight to determine the winner.
Eeli Tolvanen is ranked No. 1 in Seattle. He faked Binnington and scored his first goal in the gunfight. Jack’s neighbor next stood up and his wrist scored.
Eberle was second and his shot was blocked. Thomas’ goal seemed to be blocked, but it lags behind Grubauer and passes the line, making it a good target.
Kaapo Kakko finished third and got the chance to Kraken. Brayden Schenn’s shot bounced off the goal whistle.
Matty Beniers entered the fourth round and despite trying to fake Binnington, he was unable to score. Zack Bolduc’s shot bounced off Grubauer’s mat.
Wright was also denied. Pavel Buchnevich’s shot was also rejected by Grubauer.
Jared McCann and Jordan Kyrou both shot extensively.
Chandler Stephenson shot in front of Binnington. Jimmy Snuggerud tried to keep the blues’ chances but was rejected. Claken won the gunfight.
The final match
Kraken will host the Los Angeles Kings’ final game of the season on Tuesday, April 15. The Blues will also host the Utah Hockey Club’s final game of the season on Tuesday.
