Upper deck releases DC Comics Superhero Card for NHL Draft Prospects – Hockey Writer – Collect Hockey

Young fans often see their favorite hockey players as superheroes. Well, now the upper deck makes it a reality. Upper Deck and DC Comics have collaborated to complete the 2025 NHL draft and released a crossover setup for 2025 DC fans on its E-Pack platform, combining DC characters with five top NHL prospects.

Comic-style original artwork reimagines five athletes on five cards inspired by various DC superheroes. Five players in this collection include:

• Matthew Schaefer pays homage to Superman
• Michael Misa pays tribute to Batman
• James Hagens
• Porter Martone
• Caleb Desnoyers, he appears at Nightwing.

This is the first of four sets to be released, and it is another unique opportunity for Upper deck to celebrate the summer of “Superman”. These cards are $5.99 per pack, one card per pack, and last until July 7 at 8:59 a.m.

These five cards with the prospect of the NHL’s top draft are the first of four crossover suits released throughout 2025. The second set of cards in the series, with Upper Deck exclusive spokespersons Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid, will be inspired by DC Studios’ new film “Superman” in mid-July. The film is scheduled to be released in the theater and at IMAX® on July 11 at Warner Bros. Pictures.

It’s fitting that Gretzky and McDavid will both release new cards at Superman’s premiere. Sometimes both players seem to have superhuman talents. Gretzky, with his intelligence and vision for Ice and McDavid, his speed and fast hands kept the fans speechless.

Fans can purchase the 2025 DC Fan Crossover Card on Upper Deck’s E-Pack platform. These cards will be provided digitally and then printed and shipped within 8-10 weeks.
