Usyk picks Joshua to beat Fury in 2025

Alexander Usyk has chosen Anthony Joshua to defeat Tyson Fury, setting up a two-fight match between the two in 2025. It's not entirely shocking that Usyk (23-0, 12 KOs) chose AJ to beat Tyson, as he has a huge advantage over Tyson in strength, speed and athleticism.

Unified heavyweight champion Usyk defeated Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) for the second time last Saturday night in Riyadh, having already beaten Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) twice in 2021 and 2022 KO).

When asked who would win a fight between Joshua and Fury, Usyk told BoxingHour.com: “Maybe Anthony Joshua.”

“I don't know, maybe points. I don't know,” Usyk said of how AJ would beat the Gypsy King.

Fury was stunned by Usyk several times and lost the 12-round fight by unanimous decision with a score of 116-112×3. Comes up like a sore loser. He showed that he was one of those fighters who would never admit it when he was defeated. I still don't know what Turki Arashih saw in him.

Fury looked fat around the waist and his boxers were pulled up above his belly button, with the referee choosing not to insist that he pull them down. Didn’t the referee notice how high Fury’s pants were in that fight?

Considering how tall Fury's torso is, there's little area for Usyk to aim his fists at Fury's midsection. If this fight had been held in America, the referee would have insisted that Fury wear his pants lower.

Fury weighed in at 281, which is so high, I can't believe he lived like a monk during three months of training camp, not talking to his family, because he trained so hard.

What does Fury eat during training camp? Why did he still look so fat in training camp? I can't understand it, and it doesn't look like Fury is focused enough right now to try and stay in good shape for his fight.

“Tyson Fury only has one fight and that's Anthony Joshua,” Eddie Hearn told DAZN Boxing on Saturday night. “This is the biggest fight in the history of British boxing and everyone is going to want to see it. It's not a Tyson Fury who looks finished.

Who is Hearn trying to joke here? Fury looked terrible last weekend. If Hearn seriously thinks Fury is still in his “prime” form, that probably means he's not judging him to begin with because he's never really looked great in his career.

Even in Fury's best victory over 39-year-old veteran Wladimir Klitschko, he mostly leaned on the ropes and threw jabs into the air, inviting the ferocious Vlade to throw.
