Wanderers receive bid to sell Ibrox Star for £4m+

The Glasgow Rangers and 49-man business received a bid to sell the Ibrox star this week and have responded to the offer.

New managers Russell Martin and Gers have made a permanent deal after leaving Dundee and Aarons joining the loan from Bournemouth in two signings this summer with midfielder Lyall Cameron and defender Max Aarons.

Ibrox is expected to add more additions, but there are still many rumors of evacuation from the homeless who have toured before the transfer window opens until September 1.

Martin hopes to build Rangers around Hamza Igamane and Nicolas Raskin, however, Marseille has taken a new approach to signing Igamane, and Raskin is reportedly “ready to withdraw” from the Premier League interests.

On the defensive side, Robin Propper, signed only last summer, has close ties to the return chief of FC Twente, with rumored Wanderers struck a €1.5 million deal with the Dutch for centre-back.

Last season’s Scottish Premier League Golden Boot champion Cyriel Dessers is also a wanted man, proposing that the striker agree to a £30,000 weekly contract to leave the Rangers to Aek Athens. Now, both clubs have seen updates and potential fees.

Wanderers receive £4.5m to sell Cyriel Dessers

According to Daily Records, the Wanderer received a £4.5 million bid from AEK Athens Dessers this week. The proposal was rejected by 49 people, but the Greeks prepared a new bid because the Dessers were their “signature target No. 1.”

The report, released on Tuesday, does say: “If progress is not made within the next 24 to 48 hours, the yellow and black may be forced to move forward.”

According to Transfermarkt, the Rangers signed Dessers in 2023 for a €5 million price, and the company’s job price is £4.25 million, so the Gers and 49ers will be slightly profitable.

However, reports elsewhere have shown that Rangers want about £5 million to separate from the striker, so AEK Athens is not far from Ibrox valuation.

Tom Lawrence, known as the “quality”, scored 18 league goals last season under Philippe Clement and Barry Ferguson, who praised the striker after his match against Dundee in March.

“One thing about the big guy, he’s always been happy to work with him. He’s a great worker. A great audience. He wants to improve at his age. He puts himself in a great position and he’ll feel frustrated and starts to feel bad for himself, but he keeps going.

“He got the reward from the winner. Even before I was on the job, I always said that the big guy would keep going. If he got criticized by fans, the media, the big guy, that big guy would roll his sleeves up. I don’t think it would affect him, and it would never affect him.

Now, it looks like his days in Glasgow may be numbered, offering AEK Athens offer close to £5 million.
