Golden State Warriors guard Gary Payton II suffered his first left calf injury in Minnesota's game against the Timberwolves on November 21st.
Payton, 32, was first injured on Nov. 21 against Minnesota when he injured his left calf. . He was seen limping off the floor before heading to the locker room. The Warriors have lost 11 of their past 14 games since starting the season 12-3.
Payton is one of the Warriors' best perimeter defenders and ranks 20th in the NBA in steals per 36 minutes this season (2.0). However, he struggled shooting from beyond the arc, shooting just 5 of 32 (15.6%).

In 28 games (four starts) this season, Payton averaged 13.1 minutes per game, 4.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, shooting 54.7% from the field and 60% from the free throw line.
Payton will become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The nine-year veteran is currently on a three-year, $26.15 million contract. He is also eligible to extend his veteran contract through June 30.

The Golden State Warriors are hoping to turn their season around, but injuries continue to mount week after week.
The Warriors announced Thursday that Stephen Curry will miss the first of a back-to-back on Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Head coach Steve Kerr has said Curry may miss one of the team's next two games to manage his health. The 10-time All-Star has reportedly been dealing with pain in both knees.
Draymond Green was also ruled out with a left lower back contusion.
The Warriors have discussed the possibility of reducing Curry and Green's minutes ahead of upcoming games.
According to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk, Curry and the Warriors held a players-only pregame meeting before their Christmas Day game against the Lakers to address their recent woes.
