Bologna manager Vincenzo Italiano called his team’s Coppa Italia Triumph “incredible” and called his player “extraordinary” after Rossoblu beat Milan 1-0 to end his 51-year high trophy.
Forward Dan Ndoye scored a victory goal eight minutes and eight minutes after the half as Bologna lifted Italy for the third time in club history, the first since 1974.
Milan has been seeking domestic doubles after winning the Super European Italian earlier this season, but it was a night that ended up being Italian, who finally got some silverware after the two-meeting league finals and manager Fiorentina’s Coppa Italy finals.
The importance of this occasion certainly won’t lose Bologna boss, who is working full-time to hide his elation.
“After some disappointment, I think we deserve that, especially when we played a great game tonight. It was an incredible performance and we knew again what Milan would do in the second half, so we responded,” Italiano said.
“This incredible year is full of this trophy and it’s what these fans deserve.”

Speaking about his three last heartaches, Italian said: “These are also three very big disappointments.
“I honestly thought I could go straight back there and win, but I did. I dedicated it to these extraordinary lads.”
The 47-year-old also dedicated his victory to the late Fiorentina director Joe Barone, who had a heart attack at the team’s hotel hours before the 2024 Serie A race and died in the hospital a few days later.
“His son sent me a message this morning and I was very happy,” said Italian.
“We are also close to lifting silver with him, which means a lot to me.”
