Ruben Amorim said United’s summer transfer window would be hampered by financial fair play rules and admitted that they “don’t allow them to do a lot” to strengthen their team.
Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League after defeating Tottenham 1-0 in the Europa League final, and the accompanying loss of financial windfall means the club’s shortcomings in the market are obvious, ranking 15th in the Premier League despite obvious shortcomings in the game.

Amorim and his players are currently heading to Southeast Asia in the playoffs, and the Portuguese admits that there may not be any influx of new players many fans hope for in the next few weeks.
He said: “We always prepare two plans, one with the Champions League and one without the Champions League.
“Without the Champions League, we don’t need a big team, we can control the team in a better way, and then we have a plan to bring some new players, but our big plan is to improve the team we have, it is to improve our academy, and that’s the future, and that won’t change much.
“Because we have FFP rules, we won’t be allowed to do a lot of things this summer. It’s important to stick together. We’re going to struggle and that won’t be everything right away, but I’m seeing the team improving, and that’s the most important thing.”
Bruno really matters – Amorim
Reports show that every joint player is offered at a suitable price, and Captain Bruno Fernandez has reported on the Saudi side’s goals.
Fernandes has been a glittering light in the past few months of melancholy, and Amorim reiterated his desire to keep the Portuguese midfielder at Old Trafford.
He added: “You can see through performance, leadership, his passion for the game, which is really important. Especially in this moment.
“In the last game [a 2-0 win over Aston Villa] The team has no pressure, they perform very well, everyone wants the ball, the team has different moments, at different moments Bruno [Fernandes] Take responsibility.
“He is really important to us, and it is very important to what we want to build with this team.”
Cunha and Delap on transfer wish list
United is believed to sign Wolf Forward Matheus Cunha and expressed interest in Ipswich forward Liam Delap, both moves that will account for a large portion of its summer budget.
Their potential arrival will increase expectations, but when asked what hope will be for the next season, Amorim played his card on the card close to his chest.
“I won’t tell you what you are going to do now,” Amorim added. “If you want a goal, it’s to win the first game and we’ll see.
“We have a lot to do this summer and we have to be prepared, but when you’re United, people expect us to be at the top. But we have to know the background. So, I don’t want the team to think about a big goal. Just a small goal is to win the first game and then we pass the ball and the second game.
“I have to say that for us, not playing in the Champions League could be a benefit, perform better, be better prepared for the game, be prepared for the work we need for the future. I think it’s a good thing to take advantage of the advantages rather than having European games.”
Manchester United will compete in the ASEAN All-Star tomorrow night.
