The most popular person in the NFL was making his golf broadcast debut at the Travelers Championship this week at TPC River Highlands.
Adam Schefter broke the news on ESPN’s “Unsportsmanlike” on Tuesday, though he was still waiting for a feature group mission Thursday morning. ESPN+ has PGA Tour rights, which is where golf fans can find coverage of early matches and play group streaming before (and during) the start of the TV broadcast.
The Travelers Championship is in Cromwell, Connecticut, not far from ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, while the NFL is in off-season mode, Schefter, a long-time golf addict, can join through ESPN+’s mobile action
According to Golfweek, it has been months since Schefter contributed to the ESPN+ streaming model, but this week it performed best for everyone’s timeline.
Since the initial announcement on Tuesday, he has been assigned to the Rory McIlroy/Keegan Bradley pairing for the evacuation Thursday at 10:35 a.m. (You can follow here.)
