The Wanderers outlined their “disdain” of a few supporters whose actions led to UEFA allegations.
In a conflict between Europa League and Fenerbahce last Thursday, some Rangers fans hang up “awaken foreign ideology – defend Europe”, with European football’s governing body disciplinary action against the Glasgow club.
The club released a strongly worded statement this morning, which read: “The club will now face significant sanctions on the actions of a minority, which is incredibly and candidly embarrassing.

“First, the club was charged by UEFA after a few supporters showed what UEFA called “racist and/or discriminatory banners” at an Ibrox meeting with Fenerbahce last Thursday.
“The Rangers are a modern, progressive football club and we are proud of our diverse game, workforce and support. It is shameful that the club is accused of such a thing in 2025, and the disdain for the person in charge will be shared by the vast majority of our supporters.
“This allegation will have consequences for the club, and the club is also working to identify responsible people and ensure they face consequences as well.
“To avoid doubt, if you don’t believe in 2025, everyone is absolutely welcome to follow Rangers, whether it’s in Ibrox or leaving, then Rangers are not your club and you should partly leave the club right away.”
Wanderers face further charges
The statement explained that UEFA also accused the club of blocking objects and channels in the Fener game.
It was an unnecessary distraction after the Rangers defeated Jose Mourinho’s soldiers to the Europa League quarterfinals, who were supported with a memorable victory of 3-2 on Sunday in Glasgow rival Celtics.
The statement concluded: “All the above actions will have consequences for the club and for the supporters of the club, either directly or indirectly.
“The Rangers as the club will stand with our supporters and advocate for their rights and their ability to support the team in the most enthusiastic way within the scope of the law.
“However, the club also calls on all reasonable supporters to wholeheartedly reject any acts that make the Rangers’ name pronounced and assist the club by challenging any issues that will lead to further punishment from the relevant authorities.”
