He was asked who was more likely to sign the autograph, Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor. Additionally, he mentioned that the Winnipeg Jets have other players looking for new deals.

Martin Biron: “The Winnipeg Jets are cleaning out their lockers so Nick Ehlers is a UFA and Kyle Connor can sign an extension on July 1. Which one is going to happen? Well, I don’t want to say first, because obviously Ehlers would have to be before July 1. But which one’s more likely to happen: Ehlers stays and/or Connor signs the extension on July 1.”
Dave Pagnotta: “I think Connor is more likely to have a long-term extension with the Jets. I think people think Ehlers will go into the open market, I think they understand last offseason and in the last offseason they’re at least close to what’s going on with his extension.
I think they know they think they are going into the season, they will effectively use him as their rent, and they will have to figure out whether they can somehow replace his offensive ability elsewhere through trade or free agents throughout the summer.
I think all the signs come from everything I gather, unless He pulls 180, the Ehlers will test the market as a free agent to see what options will be available. ”

Steve Kouleas: “Yes, I mean Brayden Yager might not be ready yet, but ultimately he’s part of the system, right? When it’s one-to-one, there’s a huge deal with Pittsburgh. So, they might think about it in the system.
Pagnotta: “Yes, just to add, they have to play a lot of hats. I have to lock Gabe Vilardi in. (Brandon) Tanev and (Mason) Appleton are both UFAs. They both express that desire and interest. It will be fun to stick with it. But they will be fun. On that extra hump, let’s see what they do.”
