Anthony Edwards has lost patience with referees, and the league may lose patience and fine him.
Edwards was fined $25,000 for criticizing the referees during the Wolves' win over the Warriors, and weeks later, Edwards again disparaged the referees in a tirade following the team's 113-103 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
The result this time was a $75,000 fine for “public criticism of referees and use of inappropriate and profane language.”
What did Edwards say?
“It's terrible, it's terrible for everyone except that woman,” Edwards said after the game. “The other two guys, it's too bad. They don't call the foul excuse, that's too bad. They don't want to talk back to the coach and they don't want to talk back to me. I said one thing to the referee and he gave me a technique .fuck that to one of my teammates. [that] If I said you all called a hard foul, he wouldn't give me a technical…
“They're sensitive and scary.”

The 23-year-old's frustration may have something to do with the Wolves' poor performance in the game, which saw Golden State go on a 21-11 run to tie the game at 92 with just over five minutes to play.
Ant-Man getting fined is all too familiar
Edwards has been fined three times this season and six times so far in his short career.
- September 20, 2022: Fined $40,000 for using offensive and derogatory language on social media.
- Aug. 9, 2023: $50,000 fine for recklessly rocking a chair while leaving the court after a playoff game against Denver.
- January 31, 2024: Repeated critics of referees fined $40,000.
- Nov. 17, 2024: Fined $35,000 for making an obscene gesture on the field.
- Dec. 10, 2024: $25,000 fine for using profanity in postgame interview.
struggling wolf
Minnesota has been in a rut all season. The Wolves are 14-13 this season, barely clinging to the tenth and final spot in the play-offs. Just one season removed from reaching the conference finals, this team is still running out of steam.
Trading Julius Randle didn't lead to the on-court success of Karl-Anthony Towns, and Edwards became popular for criticizing the team without complaining about the officiating.
Minnesota will face the Atlanta Hawks on the road Monday night.
