NBA Week 18 – All-Star Game Random Ideas
- The All-Star Game wasted time again. The NBA has tried many ways to make players play hard. They once had former stars talking to players and tried a new form of game this year, but all attempts failed. I don’t have an answer on how to get the player to take care of. I support players and think they deserve a good salary, but I also believe that the least players can do is play hard during the game. It’s a game for fans, and real NBA fans want to see more of the best players in the league than dunks, hitting threes and throwing alleys for dunks.
- Stay on an all-star theme. I thought LeBron James and Anthony Edwards were selfish without the competition. If players don’t plan to play, they should announce it earlier. If they do, the NBA will be able to get the players they deserve in the game like Domantas Sabonis and Norman Powell.
NBA Week 18 – Western Conference Random Thought
- It’s a pity that Victor Wembanyama has stood out this season. He is the lock for the defensive player of the year. Because he can’t play 65 games, he can’t win the award. I fully support NBA rules, but I have suggestions for the league. Rather than determining the average per game average by the total number of seasons to determine the league leader. For example, the player with the highest overall score this season should be the scoring leader. By doing this player, if needed, that is 50/50 players can wear clothes and be used by their team. The second half is 15 minutes to help their teams don’t hurt their average.
- Draymond Green announced that the Warriors will win everything, an interesting statement. When I looked at the rankings, the Warriors are now at 9th place. They are only 2.5 games ahead of the eleventh position Phoenix Suns and will exit the playoffs if the season ends today. The Warriors are also ranked 6th in 2.5 games. The sixth place deleted them from the game they had to play. My advice to Draymond is that your team is at least sixth before you start talking about the title, and then you can start talking about the title.
NBA Week 18 – Eastern Conference Random Thought
- Joel Embiid tries to play. The problem is that he is just his own shell. It was time for 76ers to sit next to him and take care of his problems, including surgery. One thing the 76ers should do is make sure they are in good condition whenever he returns. If he does this, the wear on his knees will be reduced.
- The Toronto Raptors is an interesting study. They just signed Brandon Ingram for three years, with nearly $40 million a year. That’s with Immanuel Quickley’s $32,500,000, RJ Barrett’s $25,794,000, Jakob Poeltl’s $19,500,000 and Scottie Barnes’s salary of $38,661,700. These salaries alone put the Raptors on the salary cap. When the Raptors fill out the lineup, they will certainly pay taxes, if not the second apron. If that’s the core of their future, then my only question is that the core is enough to compete for the championship? If you can’t fight for ownership, it’s unwise to pay taxes.
- Last night, the New York Knicks were just knocked down by the Cleveland Cavaliers. They played the Celtics in Boston on Sunday. I hope the Knicks come out and put in a huge effort because they are hurt. If they were hit by the Celtics, then the Knicks would have some obvious problems. I suspect the Knicks will sit down and do nothing. I’ve already said that this is not Tom Thibodeau’s team. But Tibs is a good coach. When this happens, management usually opens the coach on the coach, especially after the Mikal Bridges deal, OG Anunoby and Karl Anthony-Towns. It’s a good thing that he’s got a contract extension before this season. One thing that can keep the status quo is that Mitchell Robinson is coming back soon if health can provide the defense with the marginal protector they need so management may want to see if he can Help before Doig.
