£20 million Leeds transfer target drives Elland Road to Forke’s Elland Road move

Leeds United are now reportedly pushing for the move to Elland Road, which will be a huge boost for head coach Daniel Farke as he watches the Premier League.

Leeds competed for the second inquiry title this season to advance to the Premier League.

Farke’s team barely missed the promotion in the 2023/24 season, defeating Southampton 1-0 in the playoff final after finishing third in the championship game.

This season, the Whites are in automatic promotions and are currently ranked first in goal percentages only, leading the way at Sheffield United and Burnley in just eight games.

On the court, the club seems to be preparing for next season (whether in the Premier League or the championship), with many transfer goals reportedly already reportedly.

Among them is Southampton forward Cameron Archer, who was targeting Farke in January, and the Yorkshire club is also keen to sign Almeria forward Ibrahima Kone in the summer, according to reports from the African Foot.

Kone is likened to the physical talent of Romelu Lukaku, currently on loan at Al Okhdoo in Saudi Arabia. However, it is unlikely that he will stay at the club outside of the season, and Almeria is reportedly ready to unload him in the summer for about €10 million (£8.4 million).

Phillips pushes Leeds back

Another person on the Leeds wish list is said to be former midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

A recent report from TeamTalk shows that Leeds have reached a verbal deal with Phillips, who is currently on loan from Manchester City from Ipswich Town and will return to Elland Road if Farke’s side gets promoted.

Manchester City realizes Leeds’ interest, and it is unlikely to stop the move as long as the 49ers weigh about £20 million.

It was not clear before whether Phillips would be willing to return to Leeds, but now, Farke and the club’s fans have some good news, which Football Insider offers: He is.

According to the publication, Phillips is thought to be eager to return to Leeds and urged action, and he hopes that the support of fans and the support of the club will help him recover his stalled career.

Phillips also hopes the move will help him return to the folds of England, and the three lions have not appeared since 2023.

Phillips was previously described as an “exception” by city owner Pep Guardiola. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish head coach talked about the British midfielder a few months after moving to the Etihad Stadium: “Kalvin, is excellent in a lot of things.
