Manchester City in Chelsea, as Roma goalkeeper Mile

Manchester City will compete with Premier League rival Chelsea to sign Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

Mile Svilar, 25, refused to extend his contract to Rome, and negotiations on fresh clauses reached a deadlock due to the player’s camp requirements. The Serbian goalkeeper is allegedly demanding a salary of 4 million euros per season because Roma is reluctant to accept it.

Despite improvements under the guidance of Claudio Ranieri, the Roma still misses European football matches. If Ranieri’s team is not eligible for Europe next season, it will have to trim the salary bill, which is one of the reasons why they are reluctant to agree to Svilar’s request.

As a result, the Roman contract rebels threw multiple clubs across Europe into a red alarm. Premier League duo Manchester City and Chelsea are reportedly eager to take advantage of the situation and sign Svilar, who are not happy with Roma’s latest contract offer. Bayern Munich and Monaco are also in line with Rome’s 25-year-old situation.

Manchester City to Mile Svilar with Chelsea

Man City is following the new goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/26 season. Ederson was about to leave the Saudi professional league last summer, with Al-Ittihad and Al-Nasser showing the greatest interest in him. He received a big offer from the Saudi club, but the conversation with Guardiola convinced him to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Ederson is expected to leave Manchester City at the end of the campaign, and the club chief hopes Sveral will replace the Brazilian. The 25-year-old Roman gloves are at the perfect age and may replace Ederson in the long run.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s goalkeeper division has been in trouble all season. There is no second idea to upgrade the wrong Robert Sanchez. Espanyol was restored to No. 1 before an international breakout, looking shaky as he beat Arsenal 1-0. His agent, Filip Jorgensen, also did not pull trees, which made the signing of a new goalkeeper meaning.

Svilar will be an upgrade for Sanchez while competing with Jorgensen, who will be ranked No. 1 in Stamford Bridge if he signs. The former Benfica man has gained valuable experience in Europe in recent years, and at the age of 25 he is ready to improve his career.

That being said, see who won Svilar’s signature contest, or he’s actually an extension with Roma
