The Buffalo Saber has quietly become one of the hottest teams in the Atlantic division. that’s right, this Buffalo Sabre. Entering Tuesday’s match against the Ottawa Senator, Sabres won four of the first five games, which is impressive for the team.
Saber continued their impressive game, once again taking the postseason senator dominance in the playoffs. There are some key gains in Ottawa’s 5-2 win, so let’s get started.
Saber’s dominance over Senator is hilarious and unexplainable
There isn’t a lot to do with Saber this season, but it’s definitely fun to target the pure dominance of the Senators. It was the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season, with the Sabers finishing the season series with four games.
The team’s stars have performed well against Ottawa, with four games against Sens this season, with Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson scoring four goals and eight points in four games. Hopefully this is a sign of the positive events coming, but at least we can look back at the Senate’s dominance, which is a positive this season.
It’s interesting because both teams are connected because it’s never possible to figure it out. It’s not that interesting when you think about the fact that the Senator with Dylan Cozens could be a wildcard team.
Reimer’s revival has been good
James Reimer, a 37-year-old reserve goalkeeper, seems to have failed for much of the season. At first glance, his 7-6-2 record has nothing to write about. Although he won’t be on the list of the greatest teams, his recent performance is interesting.

Reimer now won his last five games and has won the Lions share in the struggles of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen in recent weeks. Reimer has given up more than two goals in his last 10 games, with one team scoring eight goals in the victory (Washington Capital).
Reimer didn’t take into account the team’s long-term plans, and he was released early this season. But it’s nice to see him come and enjoy the mini Renaissance, which provides the kind of solid goalkeeper the team has always hoped to retire.
Leaders stand out
This offseason will change, although it remains to be seen how drastic these changes will be changed. At least in recent weeks, it has been clear who the team is. Tuch, Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin are obviously three of the best players on the team throughout the season, JJ Peterka is not far away.
Guessing is on trade deadlines, especially around Tuch. But it is clear that these four (although unshakable) are the basis of the franchise. With the right pieces, they may be better than this season (Peterka was excluded in 2022-23).
Being the general manager of the team is not enviable. Making the “right” move to get the Saber back into the playoffs is a more difficult task than it seems, but these are the people in the room mentioned by owner Terry Pegula. The sword will rise from the ashes.
Better than a brown bear!
With victory, the Saber is officially better than the Boston Brown Bear! Mastered a game, and the Saber could probably lead the tan in the standings. Saber has more regulatory wins (32-30), more goals and better target differences.
Being a Saber fan isn’t an interesting offseason, but there’s some comfort to beat their long-term opponents in the standings. The Brown Bear’s collapse this season has been a crazy journey, and it’s something Sabers fans can see with love and joy.
