On July 10, the American Hockey League (AHL) announced its 2025-26 season schedule, the league’s 90th season, a notable milestone in North America’s highest minor league system. The Chicago Wolves will enter the league’s 32nd season, hoping to win their sixth championship in franchise history. Starting Saturday, October 11, there are some familiar teams and some returning guests in their 72 games.

Familiar and return faces on 2025-26

The Wolves began their season against Iowa’s wilderness on October 11, with their home opener against rival Rockford Icehogs the next Saturday (October 18). The Wolves will take over the Icehogs 12 times next season and the Milwaukee Navy last game. They will also take over Wild and Grand Rapids Griffins 10 times each, while Manitoba Moose and Texas stars eight each. The central division alone will account for 60 of the Wolves’ 72 regular season games, or 83.3% of the season. The other 12 will be separated from family and away games between the other three teams.

The Wolves plan to beat the Cleveland Monsters four times next season, twice at home at Allstate Arena and two in Cleveland. The first two games against the Monsters will be held in Chicago from November 15 to 16, and then in Cleveland from January 21 to 22. Although these two teams are in different departments, these are always events that must be watched.

A familiar opponent is the 2024-25 Pacific Division champion Colorado Hawks. The Wolves have not faced the 2018-19 season since the Wolves. The first set of matches will be held in Loveland, Colorado from February 6-7, before being played next weekend at Allstate Arena from February 14-15. Could this be a preview of the Western Conference side of the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs?

Wolves will also face the Toronto Islands in the North Side for the first time since 2021-22. Maris will travel to Allstate Arena for their first two games on November 1, while Wolves will travel to Toronto for back-to-back on February 28 and March 1.

The Wolves hope to play back-to-back Calder Cup playoffs under head coach Cam Abbott after head coach Cam Abbott’s second year after he was on the bench. Abbott and his staff coached the Wolves to score 78 points and fourth points with a record of 37-31-4-0 last season. However, they lost to the Icehogs in three first-round series.

The Wolves will try to build last season’s game, which has allowed their young players to lead and take another step forward. It will be a long road, but the players are looking forward to.
