Winnipeg jets headed to Washington, where they attended Seattle Clake on Sunday, March 16.
Game review
Three minutes after the first stage, Eric Comrie was withdrawn from the game after colliding with Matty Beniers and a Jets player. Connor Hellebuyck entered the competition.
A minute later, former Kraken Brandon Tanev hit Shane Wright hard. Tye Kartye didn’t get him out of the way. Karye and Tanev are both in a melee, and the two have to sit down and do rough things. After both teams returned 5-on-5, Cole Perfetti sat down and hooked. In his first powerful match chance of the night, Kraken took advantage. Chandler Stephenson won the standoff with 35 seconds left in the power play. He passed on the board to Beniels, who sent the puck back to Stephenson. He drove the hockey to the board, where he found Jordan Eberle. Eberle found Jani Nyman alone in the middle of the ice. He passed it to Nyman, who shot and sent the puck into the top corner of the Hellebuyck net.
Ten minutes after withdrawing from the game, Comrie returns to defend the crease. Fortunately, he is OK and able to finish the game.
Shortly after Comrie returned, Kraken slid a goal past him. Ryker Evans passes the hockey through the neutral zone into the offensive zone in Kraken where he finds Michael Eyssimont. He owns the hockey and goes out for two Jets trying to flank. Eyssimont shot as he approached the net, and the puck passed through Comrie’s legs and entered the back of the goal.
With 17 seconds left in the first second, the Jets cut Seattle’s lead in half. Vladislav Namestnikov sent the hockey to Dylan Samberg on the blue line. Thunberg filmed the shot blocked by Joey Daccord. Perfetti recovered his rebound from the front of the net and shot the visitors for the second night.
By half of the second stage, the scores were already tied together. Morgan Barron picked up the puck from Kraken’s mistake game. He sent the puck to the Jets’ offensive zone where Kyle Connor waited. He picked up the puck and skated to the undisputed net, raising the score to 2-2.
Even though the Jets had 11 net hits and Kraken had 6 in the third phase, neither team could break the tie. This match is overtime to decide the winner.
OT In less than two minutes, the Jets scored the final goal. Thunberg received the hockey from Namestnikov. Thunberg passed it to Perfetti, who slid across the front of the confrontation circle and net. Instead of taking pictures in person, he passed Samberg to Samberg. Samberg’s shot bounced off the crossbar and went into the back of the net, giving the Jets a victory.

Kraken will travel to Illinois and they will ride the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday, March 18. The Jets will also resume operations on Tuesday, when they competed in the Vancouver Canucks at the Rogers Arena.
