Seattle Kraken hosted the Montreal Canadaens on Wednesday, March 12. Despite the close match, Kraken was able to win 5-4 in overtime. Kraken now swept the season series after winning the game against the Canadiens earlier this season.
Game review
At 4:54 in the first phase, Kraken first entered the board. Jakub Dobes caught the puck after Matty Beniers sent the puck to the board. Dobbs passed it to his left, and Jordan Eberle grabbed it before any other Canadian player could touch the puck. He passed it to Brandon Montour. In the confrontation circle, Montour scored a goal of the night, scoring Kraken’s first goal.
Four minutes after the second second, Kraken expanded his lead. Chandler Stephenson hit the blue line and sent the puck to the board. Eberle picked it up and immediately passed it to Eeli Tolvanen. Torvanan shot from the standoff point and scored the second night for the home team.
At 6:14 on the second second, Montour sat down and tripped Jake Evans. Taking advantage of the power play, Lane Hutson put the puck on the blue line and put it back to Nick Suzuki. He slides through it and passes it to Patrik Laine. Laine scored Montreal’s first goal with a timer.
At 9:33 on the clock, each team received a penalty kick, resulting in 4-on-4 hockey. Arber Xhekaj and Tolvanen both sat down for roughness. With a few seconds left, Laine slid into the Canadians’ offensive zone with Alex Newhook. Laine took the speed of the goal and passed the puck to Newhook. He snowed and fired, and he tied for Montreal.
Three minutes later, Hutson passed through the hockey through the neutral zone, where he was caught by Cole Caufield. He passed by Juraj Slafkovsky, who slid the puck online. Joey Daccord went far beyond the net, but Slafkovsky shot a shot, bounced from the bar and entered the net. The second phase ended with the Canadiens.
Seven minutes after the third stage, Suzuki picked up the puck after Caufield sent it to the board. He shot Jayden Struble at the Blue Line, who fired. Slafkovsky is in front of the net and tilts the hockey behind the net. The goal for high intelligence is challenging, but a good goal was determined with a score of 4-2.
Halfway through the third round, Xhekaj sat hooking Jamie Oleksiak. In the power play, Eberle slid the puck to Kraken’s offensive zone. He sent it to the board of directors to Montour, who in turn sent it back to Eberle. He spotted Jani Nyman in front, who fired and scored his first NHL goal.
At 17:27 of the third quarter, David Savard sat down and tripped. With 1:42 left in the power game, Montu gained control of the puck near the blue line. He sent a pass to Vince Dunn on the right. Dunn fired. The hockey came out through traffic and found Benier in front. Beniers gained control of his stick and stuffed the puck into the net to tie the game.
In overtime, Montour gained control of the hockey during the confrontation. He slid online and surpassed everyone else. He filmed a bounce bar and entered the game to finish the game, with overtime for only four seconds.

Kraken will stay home and host Utah Hockey Club on Friday, March 14 at Utah Hockey Club. Canadians will be home and they will host the Florida Panthers on Saturday, March 15.
