Manchester United must sell “fall off the cliff” failed

Manchester United’s terrible form in the Premier League continued on Saturday with Everton drew 2-2 at Goodison Park.

Ruben Amorim was appointed in November and has won only four of four of the 15 Premier League games so far, losing eight of them .

The Portuguese head coach couldn’t stop Old Trafford from rotting, and the draw with the Toffees was just the latest move in a long setback this season.

As you can see in the table above, this form of Manchester United is by far the lowest point in Amorim’s management career, as it is also his lowest point in every game with any club, and also a distance away.

This suggests that given that Manchester United seems to be an outlier in his career and that it is the player he can use to disappoint him, the former Sports and Braga owner may not be the Red Devils’ issue.

The Premier League giant has an expensive team, assembled by several different managers, with a conflicting tactical philosophy, which leads to a disconnected team that is not ideal for Amorim at the moment.

Manchester United reportedly had the third highest salary bill in the division, at £172.1 million a quarter, as only Arsenal and Manchester City rose.

Unfortunately, the Red Devils created a squad that has several top earners on the brink of starting XI or long-term injuries.

As you can see in the table above, only De Ligt and Fernandes have started over 15 times in the Premier League in the top seven players in Old Trafford.

This shows that United are not getting value from their huge pay bills, and if you are going to go back to the top of the UK game, it is something that must change in the upcoming transfer window and season.

Amorim was able to sign in the January transfer window with Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu, who reportedly had a left-back of £40,000 per week.

Patrick Dorgu’s Manchester United Form

The Denmark defender made his debut as a right-side back in the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspur and was eliminated in the halftime without dribbling.

However, he played a full 90 minutes in two Premier League appearances with the Red Devils and showed many positive signs on the left.

The 20-year-old played on the right side of the defense in the FA Cup beat Leicester, but he was on the more natural side of the left in the game against Tottenham and Everton.

Dorgu played 21 games in Serie A with LECCE before moving to Old Trafford in the first half of the season, which allowed him to play in recent weeks run.

As you can see in the table above, the Danish International quickly found his foot from a defensive perspective and won most of his duels with an opposition attacker.

Interestingly, he has won 79% of his ground final so far, a field where defender Diogo Dalot on the other side struggles.

Portugal International (£85,000 per week) earns more than twice as much as Dorgu (£40,000 per week), but there is not enough delivery on the court to justify his salary.

When the summer transfer window officially opens at the end of the season, Amorim must cruelly bin the 25-year-old loser because his form isn’t good enough this season and he doesn’t look like he’s fit in the manager’s system.

The former sports coach deployed the United defenders, who moved forward on the team and created opportunities for offensive players, but that was not a big part of Dalot’s game.

He has had only three goals and eight assists in the club’s 131 Premier League appearances to date, and his offensive quality – as shown in the clip of Wigan mentioned above – is rarely exhibited.

Dalot’s overall shape in the Premier League this season also has many shortcomings. Youtuber Alicetalksfooty claims that the defender “falls off the cliff” after drawing lots with Everton, making it difficult to argue about the assessment.

As you can see in the table above, the Portuguese defender’s goal has dropped from last season to the current campaign in the Premier League.

He struggled particularly in the ground duel, losing most games, while Dorgu came in and took dominance of opposition players, and Dalot also failed to provide a lot of quality at the top of the court.

So Ineos should abandon the 25-year-old flop in the summer to bring the back to the right for a system that suits him, as Portugal International doesn’t seem to have the offensive qualities needed to thrive under this manager.
