On Thursday, May 22, Ottawa alleged to preside over Minnesota Frost to compete in Game 2 of the Pro Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) Walter Cup Final. It worked overtime and Frost won the game 2-1. With Minnesota’s victory, the series is now tied 1-1.
Game review
Four and a half minutes of the first phase, Tereza Vanisova sat down with her seat. While Frost has a strong chance, they can’t score. The first stage ended with a 0-0 score, with the charge taking out eight shots compared to Frost’s three-pointer.
In the second phase, the charges were fined twice and Frost was accepted once. Again, the score remained unchanged at 0-0.
Rebecca Leslie has two minutes left in the third stage and stole the puck from the frost. From the back of the net, she slid toward the board. Leslie passed the hockey to Jocelyne Larocque. She slid the puck online and hit the first goal of the game.
With 37 seconds left in the game, Vanisova was given a free throw again, this time tripping. Vanisova sits down, frost capitalizes. Frost won the standoff and sent the puck back to Lee Stecklin. She passed it to Claire Thompson, who shot the shot blocked by Gwyneth Philips. Britta Curl-Salemme picked up the loose puck, tilted it into the net, and tied it up for 16 seconds. This match will work overtime to decide the winner.
Thompson passed the hockey to Melissa River Watkins 16 minutes after overtime. She slid it through the neutral zone and into the frost attack zone. Channel Watkins fired and bounced off Zoe Boyd’s skateboard. Curl-Salemme picked up the loose puck and scored 2-1 to win the game.
